From High School Friends to Co-Founders
Our team is dedicated to bringing you the finest local flavours from across the country. What started as a conversation about supermarket fatigue between two high school friends—Viroshan in Durban and Daniel in Pretoria—has grown into a mission to support independent producers and share their small-batch creations with the world. We are food enthusiasts who believe in trading soulless grocery aisles for authentic makers.

We started Local Roots because we were tired of mass-produced snacks with no soul. As high school friends now living in Durban and Pretoria, we realized the best flavours weren’t in supermarkets—they were hidden in our local markets.
